2023 Read #27

Shelf Indulgence Book Club November 2023

It’s hard to believe this is the author’s debut novel! It’s dark, humorous, and has a lot to say about gender, motherhood, marriage, friendship, and caste in rural India. I definitely understand the hype around it. I am also glad I read, rather than listened, to it. Reading it allowed me to stop and look things up. Something I cannot do while listening to audiobooks on the car.
